Herd Mentality

Watching the irresponsible media coverage of the Virginia University shootings, I was not surprised to hear that Virginia Tech, like so many other universities, has a "gun-free school" policy in place. Students caught with a firearm, even if legally carried with a permit, face expulsion and possibly prosecution.

What I cannot understand: Why do the sheep running the herd vote to get rid of all the sheepdogs, and then seem perplexed and surprised when a few of their fellow sheep get eaten by a wolf. Maybe the wolf couldn't read the "gun-free school" sign that they put up. Or then again, maybe he could.......
